Well, what can I say other than WOW! It is amazing and worth every penny. I've been to many zoos around England and this one is by far the best. Also very pram friendly.
On first entering you immediately meet the Elephants (I'm sure you can now see these without purchasing entry tickets). You can get really close to the enclosure which I'm glad to say is quite some size and full of fresh shrubs and tree branches for them to chew their way through. Close to the Elephants was a sheltered seating area with all their names and ages on.
The monkeys were next on my Fab Favourites! They are just ace and so funny. There are a few different types of monkey enclosures. The Monkey House and the Outdoor Area are both favourites of mine, with excellent viewing.
The Monkey House was so funny to walk around, but very busy, so be patient if you want a turn at the viewing windows. The monkeys would come right up to the glass and mimic you, pull their tongue out, wave and clap their hands; they are so bloody clever. The outdoor enclosure was huge with massive trees, climbing frames and ropes to entertain them.
There is also a Bat House, which is not for easily scared children. Whilst following a dimly lit pathway you can walk through the Bat housing area. They are free to fly around as it is kept to night time conditions. Swooping down and around your head and the squeak of the them communicating is amazing to witness, but also a bit daunting.
